Emergency help! experience tech problem...allow retake in DAT again!

Here's my short version of my story... On Monday, I was taking my DAT and experienced tech difficulty. My computer actually froze for few second on every question in the science section. I was unable to select any choice at all. Midway during my O-chem section, I have to restart the computer again. I probably lost 10 min because of the freezing and the restart. i barely have enough time to finish the science section. Finally, in Pat section, it freeze on the 1st question causing the testing center need to call Prometric headquarter for help.

Anyway, I wrote a letter to ADA to complain about my difficult experience and today, they reply me and allow me a retake within one month.

I don't not know what to do....😕 I am really scared to retake it because I thought the whole DAT experience is over .... I even packed up all my books and started to look through my courses for this term... I am taking 5 courses this term and my upcoming midterm is on Sept 27. I missed the first week of school so i still haven't listen to all my lectures (or catch up yet)

If I am retaking it, I MUST take it within next week giving me enough time to prepare my upcoming midterm...OR btw Oct 8-14......Other weeks are full of midterms

the problem is my current score isn't too bad nor is it amazing.... It's average... but I am psychology major. I failed courses & retake them before (occurred all in 1 term). They were unfortunately science course and I was experiencing a family crisis during that time. This horrible term caused me to have a LOW gpa..... although my gpa is upward trend, it is still a LOW gpa and I am in my last year already....

So should I retake it? I have been studying for more than 2 months so I have all the required material (Chad, Destroyer, AP Bio, etc).

I do not know what to do. I was hysterical when I first know there's a chance to retake. I laughed & cried...nervous & scared... freaking out the idea retaking it. What if I do worse than my first time? I got a 20 on my Bio (the most random of all). What if I lost it? I have no idea what happen in PAT (my crack score usually is 20-23). It was a horrible day that day. None of hte math worked...my calculation was all screwed up....

If I am really retaking it, where should I start? which material should I look at?

I really do not know what to do now.....

My computer kept freezing too! But luckily I didn't lose 10 min. If I were you, I would drop all of this semester's classes. Study for a month and retake the DAT. Take summer and winter classes to make up for it. You need a 19 on the DAT to be safe, especially with your gpa ruined due to freshman yr. Or, just study next summer and retake the DAT then and apply for that cycle.

If you have low GPA, I would retake. Think about it as you are retaking it, without the 90days wait nor you paid another 360 bucks for the test and top of that you experienced how the real DAT is. As qnzbabi 91 says you want higher score to be on a safer side. I know it sucks but I would retake btw are you applying this cycle?

O man retake! If you can get those scores with BAD timing think about what you could get with a normal computer. Like you said an 18/18/17 can get you in schools but you have a free ticket for a retake and you have an advantage on everyone else because you know what to expect.

I think I have come up with a decision..
