hey......i need help....its a knda emergency so please revert back asap......i had my exam on 14th aug but i knda postponed it to the next date available ie 5th sep......m half dead.....m so confused what to do....how to give finishing touches to my prep.....there are jus roughly 20 days left i really dnt wanna postpone......to begin with i have completed first aid 90% once and dental decks 80% once and i have done ASDA question papers for majorly dental anatomy.......i just have 20 days.....now when i open the asda questions i am not able to solve most of them.....i dont know what to do.....when i try to do them vaguely by just looking at the answers and trying to learn them, it demotivates me to the maximum.......i cannot study each and every word again in these 20 days and i really dont wanna postpone....i am not able to focus at all and the days are passing by so quickly.......please tell me what to do.....i am really demotivated at this time.....all kinds of help will be appreciated........

can anyone please tell me that are the remembered questions of any help........and what do you advice to study.......iam doing only asda and decks......
can you please tell me that remembered or unreleased questions are of any help in the real exam or not and also are decks and asda enough???
i have my on 5 sept and i am scared now.......i have already rescheduled it 3 times.......and every time i feel the same sacred and unconfident....please help

Hello Drjob:
I took the test two months ago and I passed. I have three things to tell you:
1. This is a highly comprehensive exam designed to test not just your information but your personality too so DO NOT PANIC. You will be able to answer
2. DO NOT TAKE IT UNLESS YOU FEEL CONFIDENT. Nothing wrong with postponing. Don't take it and fail this will affect you.
3.I had that same feeling before taking the exam but I stopped questioning my self and focused on my weaknesses. Try to find your weaknesses and solve them. You are prepared for this there's nothing new about it you just need to clear your mind of focusing on what's after the test and focus on every day. Try to relax listen to some music, don't talk to people about the test they don't help .
WISH YOU BEST OF LUCK

thanx alot for ur help......m a lil better....but still confused to a bit......i jus revised my physio from the decks and biochem from first aid and decks and i am doin asda right now.....m still not able to solve much of the questions in it, the ones i am able to solve m pretty confident about them but the ones i dont know it seems that i havent even heard of them and believe me they are more in number then the ones i solve......is this normal.....this scares me alot......m again thinkin of reschudeling it to 5-7 days later.....but this reschudiling thing jus keeps on worsening the prep instead of improving it.....what to do....

I saw a lot of repeated questions from asda. I felt sorry for myself that I should remember them more than what I did. So my suggestion is try to remember asda released test as many as possible in the last week and take the full rest the day before. It's a pass/fail format, so you'd be fine. I felt the same way that i didn't know anything but all my friends said no one has a confidence on this kind of exam, so don't worry. Good luck!

so u saying that readin first aid or dental decks again n again is not gonna help much as readin asda will.....i feel the same......after reading the subjects for the second time also m not gettin as much satisfaction as i get when i read the asda papers....even if i dnt knw much of them, i feel as if i am learnin them.......as far as the repeated questions are concerned, theres alot of variations in everyones review...some say alot of asda repeats n some say vey few asda repeats...so what to do....too confusin......

It just depends on your luck somehow... My friends said that his exam didn't have a lot of asda, but for me it didn't even change the sequence of choices. I regret that I didn't spend enough time on asda. My final suggestion is stop panic and confusing, relax and do your best when you are there. You don't need to understand them just answer them right is what you need.

GL!!!

see...now thats the problem.....relying on your earlier message i planned my last few days before the exam to review all the asda papers.....but again m confused now......so all this is giving me so much pressure.....even reviewing the first aid and the decks 2nd time before the exam is not takin me anywhere, i still cant solve much of the questions on asda.....so i hve just decided to learn them up as such......m gonna give it now anyways....cant delay it anymore......it jus gets worse with the delaying......

I took mine on Aug 11th and passed and I didn't really feel ready for it. EVERYBODY that I have talked to pretty much had the same opinion that you will never fully be ready for it. There are absolutely going to be questions on it that you have not ever heard of. The key is to not panic. Just pick your best guess and move on.
As far as what to study, I would make sure you have dental anatomy and occlusion down VERY well. As far as what else to study, it just depends on you and how much you could bring one subject up between now and then. I would absolutely use the released exams as well. I had repeats, and then some that weren't exact repeats but the same general idea.
I left the test feeling like I just got demolished, but again, most everybody feels that way. There are a few that feel like they killed the test, but most I have spoken to didn't feel good about it when they left.
RELAX and do the best you can. Look at it this way, at least you can't get kicked out of d-school for not passing. 🙂

thanx alot for the review.....i am sure it'll help alot....i am done with dental anatomy morphology and occlusion and most of the other subjects twice....the only thing i dont have in myself is the confidence......what makes me lose me confidence is even after revising my subjects twice form first aid and much from dental decks i am not able to solve much of the asda, there are many questions in asda which i do wrong or which i dont know about.....and the other day the biggest disaster i did was that i went on solving the crack the nbde mock test on my own.....i hardly reached the 25th question and i was done.....i totally lost it....i was like i am not able to solve some simple questions what would happen in the real test if the first 10-15 questions come super hard......so all this is makin me real nervous....finally after rescheduling my exam twice i have it on the 13th sep and i really really dont wanna delay it anymore......sooo i would like a little advice on situation like this.....i have kept the last 7 days for just doing asda questions properly n nothing else.......

anyone know where to get a hand on a bunch of released ASDA exams? I've been hearing of a massive document that contains a bunch of them in the one file. i've been hearing that it's the best way to prep for the exam-practice practice practice. i guess last resort I could buy all of them from asda.........

I got my results back on the 30th. It drove me nuts because there were guys from my school that took the boards on the 13th and the 15th that got their scores before I did!!!! It freaked me out pretty bad. I think what slowed my score down was that I had to change my address after I took the boards. Other people that I have talked to that changed their address had the same thing happen.

if u can please answer my query in the other thread and yea please tell me how can i change my address before giving my exam.....should i change it where i got my dentpin from because only on that page there is an option to change the details and nowhere else....not on the prometric website and nowhere.......the prometric website shows the address which i gave when i registered for my dentpin.....so will it help changing it there....

hey u can change ur adress in the dentpin to update dentpin go to https://www.ada.org/1644.aspx and fax them the required address proofs and then give a call to jcnde to notify them of the same

or giv a call to find out about ur query to

NBDE Part I/Part II and NBDHE: 1-800-232-1694

is it necessary for me send them a fax regarding the address proof.......because last time i checked you could simply edit it.....and when i gave them my address while getting my dentpin then also they never asked for any proof.....once i change the address there, will the result be delivered to the changed address?

click on that link and then go to homepage and then on nbde..........there you can select whichever q you wanna do.....try to revise DA as we can score high on this and solve all the qs in that website along with a look over their explanations........rest let me take it and i would review the scenario of actual exam....😎

my question is still unanswered.....should i jus throw away my books and keep on doin asda again n again till my exam on 13th now......please anyone.....just tell me......

I haven't taken my exam yet but I would do ASDA tests and review decks as well. Just wondering, are you a foreign trained dentist?

I would never tell anyone what to do as far as abandoning your game plan or what to NOT study. Only you know how you stand on each topic. It's a tough call that only you can make because in the end, a week of study may only boost your score a few points in one subject (not trying to freak you out)....
Time spent on old tests is time well spent. That said, I didn't make it through all of the old released exams. I made it through 4-5. It can shake your confidence depending on how you do on them. It came to a point for me where I just cut my losses with certain subjects because I didn't feel like I was making any progress with them, and I focused on other topics.... The biggest question is what can you do between now and then to boost your score the very most? Again, only a question you can answer.

its not that i am blank on all the subjects......given some random questions from a particular subject, i am able to solve most of them with few wrongs......its just that for this last one week i wanna practice n practice instead of reading the text again because everytime u read the text from decks n first aid theres somethin new and the you get confused that o **** how can i not know this....solving exams can boost up ones confidence level to some extent.....we may not get many repeats but then again if we dont practice how would we know that was this a repeat or not.....because what i believe that u cannot memorize the questions n answers by reading just once......you have to go through them again n again to know them and to know that the question you got in the exam was a repeat or not......so for that you need to solve as many questions as you can from any source possible.....

im having my test this september 13 as well , and what im doing is reding againg the topics that im not good at. i left myself some clues while i was studing the dental desck and the firts aid. good luck for u and for me : )

i gave my part1 yesterday.........ALL THE TEST TAKERS JUST DO DENTAL DECKS AND ASDA..............AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN.......the exam was EASYYYYYY.........only basic questions were there like auriculotemporal a branch of which nerve or crista galli what attaches? My advice to whosoever going for it..........please please please do dental decks and asda (atleast J,K,L,M,N)........this website is super duper useful http://www.dentalarticles.com/nbde/
please please go through all the questions on this website................revise revise revise

and lastly enjoy the test and relax, sleep well, eat well and do well in the test
i was super anxious, left studying 2 days before exam......distracted.....could not revise what i did..could sleep whole night before the exam..........and ultimately i pushed myself to failure.....i am sure that i have failed because i even chose the wrong answer for the simplest questions which i knew but anxietyy, sleepiness and ignorance killed my hopes for passing.........

to sumup the exam was 80% from dental decks and asda( yes direct questions)........rest 10% was a mix up of common sense, i mean a statement changed to trick you with a simple concept, and hardly 10% questions were there which you may feel bad.........
so dont waste your 80% by running at those 10% like did........if you know decks and asda by heart along with review of that website questions, i can written guarantee you for passing.......one more thing if someone has time than please do dental anatomy with perfection.......because i did dental anatomy from decks, kaplan and first aid but still i had trouble......SO many questions on occlusal view of anterior questions........rest was easy.......good luck to all.........i hope everybody will pass except me who did a lot of blunders......i rescheduled the test 3 times and i was not prepared fully in terms of revision of text.......so my advise kindly do revise atleast once whatever you have read till now before 1-2 days of exam.......you should reschedule it if you have not revised, dont be ashamed...but if you have revised than go for it.......
thank you everyone, i am thinking of leaving SDN.....🙄

damn man......now you have scared me a lil.......i havent done denck properly.....instead i followed first aid properly......as far as asda is concerned i am doin as many questions as possible.......

Dont worry first aid n dental decks is the same. Keep moving towards your goal dont get distracted ok All the BEST to all

damnnnn this revision is getting on my head.....so here is what i just did.....after revising some subjects except DA i started wit crack the nbde mock test........o damn the questions just went straight off my head......it was very tough but i somehow managed to do around 148 questions out of 400 and ended the test to see my result......the average score was 49......and it showed that out of 148....52 were correct and 98 were wrong.....so whats the indication now.....i will take it again after revising DA but what are the results indicating now.....if getting 52 out 148 correct and 252 unanswered the score is 49 so if i answer more and more will be correct so the score will improve.......so tell me guys am i ok at this point or not......49 is the percentile score so please no percentage concepts her coz i know the percentage is really low....but nbde 1 is a percentile test......so i dont think 49 by just answering 148 is bad......

Hi everybody:
Just wanna quickly say NBDE exams are all about your state of mind that's why they're sooooooo long because they need to know your brain's ability to function under stress NOT just your information so I say again PLEASE DO NOT PANIC this will burn away answers you know. RELAX, clear your mind of all bad ideas. After reaching this point you are ready for this but you need you brain to give its best during the test.
There will always be questions you can't answer even in the test that's why you need your logic to give you the best guess it's all about your STATE OF MIND
Do what ever you need to do to go into that prometric center with your best physiological and neurological state.
Good luck ....

hey thanx alot for the support and your kind words.....these kind of things always motivate a person close to the exam.....yes even i have felt that panic blocks your mind and makes you even forget what you have learnt......i am trying to relax my mind.....its just an exam...we dont have to kill ourselves for it.......

can someone get the similar feeling for me too :xf: i gave mine on sept 5....

Well i think ur gonna pass definitly.....what i feel is that it takes alot of courage to take the plunge and u already took it......so once ur done u'll definitly be through.....dont worry....we all have our fingers crossed for you......ur a part of this thread family......all the best for your result......you'll pass for sure 🙂))

As for me.......m dead already.....before even taking the exam.......got a low score on the mock test i gave......but now i am not in the mood of rescheduling the test......just three days left.....cant do anything now......god be wit me......

Honestly, I think you should temporarily leave SDN stat! it doesn't do any good for you now but gives you more frustration. You have to have confidence in yourself and go for it. Go to see some movies tomorrow, and give yourself some time on Wednesday, maybe meditated, get good sleep and eat well, hypnotized yourself that you can do it. Come back and tell us your good news on Thursday evening. Ok!

Well its too good for you if u got the confidence or just anything to sit in the exam......but me getting a low score in the mock test was a clear indication that i need some more time with the books....so i didnt wanna cheat myself at this stage.....delaying it a little wont matter but failing will....so cant take the risk....once m sure....i'll go n sit in the exam with an open heart......all the very best to you....may you do very well in the exam and dont forget to relax a day before the exam.....just keep your mind open....and do write a review here when ur done.......

i took the the test . i have no idea what to wait from my score was a lot easy and direct questions bus also like 40 question that i just smile because i have no clue what they was talking about . the test was no that bad but just when my score come back i can tell u guy if all i did was good enough. : )
