I'm about to start my first rotation where I will be doing some EMG/NCS. Does anyone happen to have a good 1-2 page cheat sheet/reference for EMG/NCS. Perhaps something that shows you where to place the electrodes for checking different nerves?

Something like this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might check with the tech in your lab. Ours had a cheat sheet I remember seeing. Also, I do remember the software having diagrams within the help menu(?) showing where to put needles.

Please, do yourself a favor and go out and get a copy of Preston & Shapiro's book Electromyography and Neuromuscular Disorders. It is hands down the best book on the topic for resident-level EMGers. Easy to read, lots of nice illustrations, including photos of where to put leads and stick needles. Also very nice sidebars detailing how to structure the EMG exam for various disorders (what nerves and muscles to check, etc). I basically made up my own little "protocol book" by copying those and the related lead/needle placement photos and rearranging them to my liking.

Study this book, do some EMGs, and you'll be set.
