I was offered $1,500 per day as a 1099 contractor to work at a spine surgeon practice seeing 8 EMG/NCS a day. 1x a week they will supply needles and electrodes and I don’t use a tech. I thought this was low but what are others thoughts?

On the other end of the spectrum I saw a position advertising 14 EMGs per half day- obviously with techs. I wonder what the quality of reports out of that outfit typically is. Anyways, 1800 per day would get you up to the basement of about a normal rate, and anything over that you can negotiate would be gravy.

What is your background?

Medicare rates:

CPT 95886 equals 2.75 RVUs, about $100 depending on conversion factor.
CPT 95910 equals 5.42 RVUs, about $195 depending on conversion factor.
X8/day equals $2352

Commercial insurance may be more or may be less, depending on the market.

If they are paying you cash and you take no risk for bad collections, it is probably equitable. However, the main part of your time is being spent as a nerve tech rather than as a physician.

If you are a fellow looking to moonlight or otherwise have unused time on your hands, it would be reasonable. However, if your looking to build a practice, your time would be better spent doing something else.
