Is it bad to look EMO showing up to interviews? I just happen to look EMO naturally without trying. Especially with my pitch black hair and light skin. I guess I can dye it browner but will they take me less seriously if I leave it??

I don't think your hair should be longer than the top of your ears; I'm talking about the side bang thing. I've always liked guys with longer hair, it's just my personal preference, but I don't think it would benefit you during an interview.

Just imagine walking into the interview room and meeting your interviewer- a 60 year old pharmacist/professor. You don't want anything scrutinized other than what's on your application.

I think the average person's head hair grows about half an inch per month, so if you cut off a couple of inches, it should be back in four months.

This is probably too long:

It should be at least a couple of inches shorter if you're trying to be conservative EMO.

remember your going to be working in a professional enviroment, cut your hair and get over it. Unless you think it gives you personality then keep it and explain it (or incorporate it) to them in your interview. Never know it could actually set you apart from everyone. The Key is be yourself!!! If emo hair style is it, then so be it.

hows this? im a girl btw

lol. i like the zeon flux look, its what ever you feel comfortable in. Again, dont concentrate on your looks too much then you wont be comfortable. Look professional and well groomed. The interview is about you not your hair. I personally would go with a borderline crazy with a conservative edge to it. It gives people personality and thats what they are looking for. They dont want a bunch of 4.0 ;99 pcat students. I am male by the way

what kinda question is this?

-angelina jolie and marilyn monroe.

Ok. Thanks for straightening that out. You did say you would "date" Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe, so I assumed you were a guy.

I think that's a cute haircut for a woman. I've never associated EMO haircuts with females. Maybe you could trim it a little to make it look more conservative, but that's up to you. Although, I don't think you should have any problems. Good Luck!

WTF, I got cut off there at the title. Anyway, you see a hot girl right?

Do you approach her and ask her out? Ask for her number? What would you do?

You wait until school starts and if you guys both got into the same school then perhaps it was meant to be. Then you go in for the kill.

What? Shut up! You're getting plugs?

yeahhh people say i would look really good in them, but:

1. i'm Indian, therefore i have Indian parents---so doing that would mean me getting my @$$ kicked. (which is why i want to get them when i'm pharmacy schooll...because i "earned" then hah!)

2. i had to wait until i was actually in because of the whole "how you look at interviews" deal

I remember a picture of you from one of the threads, see who you're dealing with.

I didn't think you needed plugs???

are you thinking of hair plugs??

i was talking about ear plugs...you know those "earrings" that look like this http://www.metalmafia.com/themetalshop/images/plugs-and-tunnels.gif

edit: i apologize OP for threadjacking :X

Yeah. I was totally thinking about hair plugs!
If I remember correctly, you have nice, thick hair.

Watch out with those ear plugs. You don't want your ear holes to get too big. Most companies do not allow males to wear earrings.

I wish I had thick hair. I couldn't pull off an "EMO" look if I wanted to. I'm stuck with long hair (although, I really shouldn't complain), because I fear that if I cut my hair too short, it will look like I don't have any :scared:.

I just thought about this: what if your pharmacy school has a dress code? Will they allow you to have "earrings"?

UOP for once does not have a dress code. I went to their info day event and almost every guy if not all that were in the tour group had some bling bling on their ears! It's like I was on set at an asian rap video or something. They were cute guys though =-)

but as far as plugs go I think it's not too advisable cuz the hole is their permanently! Its like getting a tattoo only you can erase tattoo but not the hole. I have holes in my ear that is still there till this day and they weren't even plug-sized to begin with.

But I see news reporters with earrings and even my 2 of my professors have earrings so maybe its good that were starting a revolution in this day and age with the whole appropriate trend thing.

the plug can heal back into a normal-pierced hole size depending on how big you go--it's true that it will never heal even if you get a normal ear piercing, but that's expected i guess

Yeah. I was totally thinking about hair plugs!

should i be afraid or flattered that you rememeber my picture in such detail?

Yeah. I wish that was the trend down here. We actually just got a dress code, fall 2007, so I don't really know what's the deal now.

There is plenty of bling bling going on with the pre-pharm/undergrad students, but not the pharmacy students.

Oh well. Dress codes are arbitrary, like a lot of other things in life.

That's up to you.

Once again, if I remember correctly, you were making a funny or strange face in the picture. I think that's why I remember it. Weren't you staring? Maybe I'm just confusing myself now, 😕.

I have this weird type of memory. I can remember certain things forever. I mean FOREVER. I forget other things quickly, usually the habitual stuff that I don't actually learn, but I do by habit.

Here are a few examples:

I made B averages in only three classes in high school: Geometry, Chemistry, Physics. I graduated in 2002, so sometimes I surprise myself that I still remember that.

I won the Easter egg hunt in kindergarten. The golden egg was a Gold Brick egg, which sucked because it had pecans. I hate pecans.

A mile is 5,280 feet. I didn't have to Google that. I just know it.

A week ago, I couldn't remember my last address for a background check. I just moved in May, so that shouldn't have been a problem. Just to find out where I had lived, I had to go dig out a piece of forwarded mail, peel off the new address label, and look at the address on the letter to figure it out. 😱

I lose my keys and purse all of the time. I don't mean to, but I can't really help it. I always find them though. I make it a habit to look for them.

Anyway, that's why I remember the picture- strange type of memory plus funny face in photo.

pharmDstudent youre like me! I remember the weirdest things...like the names of firends of firends I've only met once. And sometimes me and my friends would reminisce on HS folks and they would all refer to them by their first names and I would refer to them as first and last names and everyoen is like whoa howd you remember that and they weren't even from my class.
Guess its a plus for pharmacy school!

oh speaking of Kindergarten I still remember the colors of the walls and the color of my teachers eyes. She said I was a smart kid and wanted me to study with her child....ahh good times.

It definitely is a plus for pharmacy school! Consider yourself lucky :luck:. There is a lot to learn in pharmacy school, and you don't want to be one of those pharmacists who always walks around babysitting their PDA.

You won't have to study as much, and when you learn something that is important to you, you will retain it much longer than your classmates.

Since you said you remembered the colors in your classroom, maybe colored flashcards will help you when you study.
I can't use them 🙁. I have to study in black and white, because that's how the information is on the exam. Highlightening doesn't seem to help me either.

I wonder what they call this type of memory? It may just be that we have a slower memory replacement rate or that we make stronger connections, therefore we don't forget information as often.

It's really cool to know someone else with an unusual memory!

is it normal for a pharmacy school to have a dress code? could you explain what the dress code is for your particular school? how "extreme" can you go?
i'm surprised that such at such a high level of education students would have a dress code...but then again it is professional school and it's expected that everybody dresses professionally

(btw i was smiling so you must be thinking of someone else--even though i do have nice thick hair!)

I didn't say my memory was perfect 😛.
Polo shirt? Friend with dark hair too? Maybe a beer?

It states under Professional Dress Standards that the "Men should not wear earrings".

http://64.233.167.104/u/xula?q=cach...+dress+code&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&ie=UTF-8

You just need to find out if your school has a dress code or if they plan on adopting one.
