I have already put down a deposit for USC Columbia, but I was just accepted to Emory yesterday! The deposit is due February 7th for Emory. USC is out-of-state for me so the cost of Emory isn't that much more (although it is possible to get in-state at USC after the first year). I had an interview at UNC on the 21st, and they said it would be around 2 weeks. UNC also sent out a financial aid survey to everyone that is due on February 6th. This makes me think they will wait until after the 6th to send out decisions. UNC is my #1 for so many reasons but most importantly because it is in-state! I am just going to wait it out for now, but if I don't hear from UNC or get wait-listed I need to decide if I want to stick with USC or put a deposit down for Emory. I know I ultimately have to make this decision, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You already have a good back-up, USC. So if I were you I'd decline Emory to free up the spot for someone else.
BTW, I went to USC for my MS in Engineering and to UNC for my DPT. Good luck with the UNC application, it's a first-class program - and relatively cheap, to boot!

I too had this issue with Emory - I loved the school and went on a tour there. I got and interview but after discussing the money issue with friends and family I actually declined the interview which was extremely hard for me to do. USC is a great school (I have been there, as well). I think it makes good sense to decline Emory especially if UNC is your number 1 because I'm sure you will get in there!

Thank you for your advice! I am sure USC is great. I just don't know much about the program, and I was told I would get more information once they finalize the class. I just feel like I know so much about UNC and Emory. I will still probably decline Emory. I guess I will just think on it for a few days first.

I think it probably makes the most sense, but it's just so hard for me to turn down Emory! Everything about it seems amazing. But it is more expensive and I have already put a deposit down for USC. UNC is definitely my first choice. It's just so hard to know. They interview 60 and only take 30!

Interviewing 60 for a class of 30 is pretty good odds! Remember that some students have multiple acceptances and will ultimately turn down UNC, so they may go through 40 or 50 students before they get a full class. Good luck!

That's true! Thank you!!
