Just wondering how you all feel about these 2 programs in a head-to-head comparison. I feel they are similar in providing diversity of academic, county/state, and VA training, with probably better psychotherapy training at Emory because of the Psychoanalytic Institute there. Both programs require lots of driving and pretty similar cost of living.
Programwise, residents in U of Maryland seem to be slightly happier (when I compare my interview day plus 4 wks at Emory away vs. 6 wks at Sheppard Pratt), they have Sheppard Pratt which I worked at and liked a lot, and the Child psych fellowship there seems to be much better (which I'm positive I'll be pursuing).
Citywise, how do y'all feel about Atlanta vs. Baltimore in terms of location for a single person (looking to meet a good Indian girl over the next few years to settle down with)? I keep hearing Hotlanta is a funner city with a big Indian population, but of course Baltimore is just a 45 minute drive (or $7 train ride) to D.C. Since I'm from Florida, I like how Atlanta is closer, 1 of my best friends who is a lawyer at Coke lives there, seems could be more Indian girls I could date there.
So what do y'all think? I guess I don't know the order of prioritization I should go through when making these ranking decisions when program vs. city seem inversely related...I know people say listen to your gut, but in this case my gut is sorta split evenly for different reasons...
Thank you so much for your time and advice!
