My uncle is a general ophthalmologist in Toledo, OH who has been practicing for nearly 20 years and has one other general ophtho working with him as well. He is looking to change over to EMR and also electronic practice management (EPM), whether intregrated from the same company or from diff companies.
Preliminary research has revealed that some ophtho specific EMR's seem popular: ie MD Office, I/o practiceware, medflow, keymedical etc.
Then there is nextgen which is the most commonly used system from what I understand.
If the software can handle optical inventory and billing that would be a huge plus as well. Does anyone have any feedback? Anyone going through the same process?
Thanks in advance
