Does anybody participate in the EMS program at their school?
I ask because I am part of the EMS team at my school and I'd like to study when on-duty (because I work 6-hour shifts three times a week, not-including periodic overnights) but the other EMS staff is, understandably, somewhat rowdy.
Typically we get 1-4 calls per shift, which never amounts to more than 2-3 hours in "the field".
Do you think I'd be too much of a wanker if I asked my fellow staff members to contain their rambunctiousness so that I can have some quiet time for studying?
Note: the station is quite sizable. It has a rec room, kitchen, bunks, and a class room (probably about 1,500 sq feet all together). On a typical shift there are 3 other staff members present.
