I am currently taking the EMT Program while working as a CNA and doing my Bio pre-reqs. I was just wondering if how hard is the EMT training compared to CNA. I am a little bit nervous because I don't want to screw this up and affect my GPA, I also want to pass this program just like what I did with my CNA training. I have noticed that there isn't much girls as well.. (just saying) Anyway, I would love to hear your opinion/experiences about this. 🙂

I wouldn't say either of the courses were hard, but EMT training was more time consuming for me than the CNA training. The test is harder (I remember guessing on several questions and still passed) and the skills tests are more detailed and intricate unlike CNA skill training which was a joke to me. There are many steps in EMT skills, including medical and trauma assessment, and something as simply as one mistake can fail you on the skill because they want to know you won't end up hurting a patient or putting the patient in harm.

That said I loved my EMT training and loved working with the paramedics on the ambulances, which you will have to do to get your certification. It's a great experience and most of my other classmates agreed

Thanks. My instructor keeps telling us that "it's very hard" and he mention that phrase all the time. 😀 On the other hand, regardless of the program being hard or not I am still excited. Just worried that I will fail it because of my instructor mentioning the difficulty level of the program. I also have to get over with my social anxiety issues especially that I will be surrounded by guys. I get really really uncomfortable when guys are around because I'm too shy. I'm never like this when I'm at work (even when guys are around). At work, I am like the most confident person and when it comes to new classes/classmates I become too shy and would rather sit in the back instead of acting smart. :scared:
