What you think doesnt matter...your a hospitalist, you wear scrubs or whatever, dont you 🙂 And society accepts ties as professional, not robes...and i agree with you, robes would be much more comfortable, but again, ties are whats accepeted...and I accept them...and i have analyzed, critically, everyday "things" in my life...cause i dont give a crap about everyday things in "everybody elses lives...and besides, my company requires them and they pay my "huge" salary, so i follow the rules...i wear the dangly piece of cloth...with lots of class...and i look good in them...and i feel good wearing them...and god damn, I look good in the dangly peice of cloth 🙂

I agree with you. Even though ties are just pieces of cloth you wear around your neck,it really does make you look professional. A good tie really makes a good impression on people you give care to. It might even impress a female also. I used to think that how you dress doesn't matter until I finally got accepted into pharmacy school. The year I got accepted into pharmacy, I wore a different tie than my previous 2 years. I even put on a pair of Calvin Klein eyeglasses to make myself look sexy and smart. Guess what, of all the 3 previous years I didn't get into pharmacy school, I got into the 1st 3 pharmacy schools I interviewed with this year. What did I do differently? I chose a different non-repetitive tie that wasn't the boring repepitive tie of the previous years. I'm not saying that appearance was the main lone reason why I got accepted but I can tell you that my interviewers looked at me differently. When you work in the health profession, looking professional is really important.

yeah ties are overrated...can't wait 'til they fall out of fashion.

then again i'm a silicon valley kid...i once canceled a reservation to a restaurant after i found out it was "coat required" while dining. uhh...okay, the last time i did that was...some wedding i went to? not the most comfortable thing on the planet.

but i guess whatever the name on the paycheck says, i'll happily oblige, even if that means bending over a few times a day and getting "serviced by the client." 👍

(10 points if you can name the reversed pop culture reference).

Well, I doubt the "dangly piece of cloth" had anything to do with you getting into pharmacy school...for christ sake, its just a piece of cloth...not the holy graile...maybe it was the glasses?? or maybe it was just time for you to get accepted? Anyway, congrats, and you wear those ties with pride! Cause it will get you the ladies...

Cause it will get you the ladies...

lol. Let me think back on some past girlfriends...

Like 2 met me when I was in a tshirt and shorts playing basketball and breaking ankles...1 met me at school in my bum hoody/jeans gear...1 I met at a Xmas party...I think I was wearing a Prada shirt, actually...but she wasn't the type that would care...

And then lets recall all of the girls I got while wearing a shirt/tie: *tumbleweeds*

I dunno...I'm going to have to disagree.

Awe come on, I said ladies, you know, real women...not girls...See i go for the older, more professional types...not girls...34-38 years old, mature...🙂
I think im a little older than you too...

Wearing a fancy tie is not going to stop a crazy customer from yelling at you.

And it gives them something to choke you with, learned that bit in self-defense class.

So yeah, did anyone else from CVS start getting e-mails that Rx is being graded on the Extracare card now? This will be fun, my scan rate was like 3% last week.

Clearly. Plus, I'm married, anyway. What's the point...

took the plunge...Good luck...and no point...only that i look damn good in my shirt and ties...🙂 and if the business world are always dressed professionally, well then i will be too...

You cant blame crazy people...at least that's what society says...professional dress isnt about the individual...your making a statement about the profession you work in...that the establishment you work in is a professional environment...No, a fancy tie isnt going to stop people from yelling at you, but again, its what is accepted and expected...

I admit that it looks pretty damn good if you're in shape. If you're out of shape like me, then it is not the most flattering thing to wear, especially since tucking in the shirt kinda exposes all your flab.

I can see the rebuttal to this coming, "just get in shape".

Thats easier said than done...ill admit that...Again, i dont care if your fat, skinny, tall, short, a nice shirt and tie goes a long way...your fat exposed is your own self conscience issue...wear a shirt that fits and a neck size that gives you enough room...

Do you guys like to wear white Ts underneath the shirt or do you prefer something like underarmour?

I dont wear anything underneath my shirt...I dont profusely sweat...I'm in relatively good shape, so i dont mind a little heat...My partner at work wears t-shirts...he's a sweater...but he's also in relatively good shape...so it just depends

Hmm, the odd thing is, couldn't the t-shirt be causing him to sweat more since he's wearing more layers?

perhaps...but he wears the shirts to prevent the stains on his nice shirts!

Depends on which pharmacist is working :meanie:

I thought it was corporate controlled or something. In the summer, we usually just keep calling corporate to lower the temperature until its like 60ish.

Something that astounds me about CVS, we sell a bunch of inhalation solutions, yet we do not sell nebulizers. Does anyone know the NDC needed to order them from Cardinal?

I dont get this statement?? what are you implying??

We have one pharmacist who likes it bone-chilling cold and another who cranks it up until we're all sweating. Not sure about all corporate stores, but I work for a pretty big company and they let us control it as long as it's within the drug storage requirements.

aahhh...ok

It would be better for the drugs to keep the temperature around 50 degrees in the pharmacy, and I wouldn't overheat wearing the shirt + tie + white coat, but then the geriatrics would start complaining.

well according to that report/quote someone posted the other day on the forum....sometimes these geriatrics just gotta deal with things. gobama!
