I'm sure that several here are about to enter their last week of RESIDENCY 😀 I can hardly believe it. Of course the excitement is somewhat offset by boards being right around the corner but still.........it's nearly done!!!

Several of the "older" docs have told me to cherish this time.......but really, what's their to cherish of putting in an epidural in some 400# bohemath that's yelling at you and a confrontational nurse belittling you in front of patients. Ummm, no 😀 It's kinda like pledgeship in college, it sucks going through it but you make some strong bonds and great friends along the way. For that, I wouldn't change one thing.

Cheers & congrats to all graduating seniors 😱

now go cram!

Congratulations to all the graduating residents this year!! I wish everyone the best of luck! As for myself and many others, the path is just beginning in our anes. residencies. Unfortunately, I will be "cherishing" my years in residency and eagerly awaiting making some real money to begin paying off my sickeningly red balance sheet!!

Congrats to all!

I am officially sick of studying Big Blue! Now Ranger attack!

My last in house call as a resident is Tuesday!

I am excited, apprehensive, and relieved all at once.

I suspect that the real education is about to begin...

Good luck to all :luck: , let's all kick the ABA in the @ss in two weeks! :meanie:

LOL, those nurses only do it because you let them. Show some balls and they'll back off.

Good luck in the real world making $$$.

All of you deserve praise and accolades for your monumental achievement of bringing your residency years to a close.

Pull your last residency-tube, bring'em to the PACU, drop your paperwork off, walk to the locker room, take your belongings out of your locker, then meander to your car.

Before you start your car, look around the parking lot. You've probably got a space-or-two that your body has been able to navigate to on autopilot at six-o-clock in the morning for the last three years.

This is will be your last memory of your residency.

Start your car and drive into the setting sun.

You are about to start a new and improved chapter of your life.

Congratulations.

no offense but, grasshopper, you need to pick your battles wisely. just because you may be in the right, doesn't always mean it's the right thing to do 😎

Today was the last day for many of us at this residency. The other half of the class had already taken off last week. I turned in my pager and my badges. Said good-byes to many of the secretarial staff as well as the attendings, and slowly I walked out of the building. All of it was very unceremonious and anti-climatic. Four years and it boiled down to this. No balloons, no streamers, no confetti falling from the sky. No band striking up a tune. Just me, myself, and I walking out that door one last time with the memories. Good luck to all who are starting this July.

i'm jealous - because of a scheduling snafu, we don't have anybody to take call this Friday night in the ICU(my rotation this month). i volunteered to take it but they said i can only work up until midnight because that is when my contract(malpractice coverage) ends. so i'll be walking out the door, done with everything, at MN on Friday - kinda clamactic!?!
