endo.. how to prepare myself?

Im a junior in dental school wanting to go endo. I wish to apply right away but am willing to go to GPR/AEGD/or private practice if i dont get in.

In the meanwhile, what should be doing in dental school to increase my chances?

of course, board scores and GPA...what else?

After receiving my board scores a couple of months ago, I emailed the program directors of 12 endo programs.

They all replied that board scores and GPA are important, and that a GPR/AEGD will *significantly* boost an applicant's chances. They also said research/publishing with endo faculty is something else they look for.

Nothing too specific, just the usual run-of-the-mill responses. What I did take home from all of their messages is to be active in your school, and be active in issues involving endo.
