So I've done a bunch of world questions on endocarditis, and things are getting a little jumbled. Is this correct:
Subacute bacterial endocarditis in non-IV drug abuser (most commonly with mitral valve prolapse)- you'll hear mitral regurgitation
Subacute bacterial endocarditis in IV drug abuser- you'll hear tricuspid regurg
Subacute bacterial endocarditis in patient with history of rheumatic fever- you'll hear mitral stenosis most commonly?
Am I thinking right? I know for rheumatic heart disease, you can have either mitral stenosis or regurg, but stenosis is supposed to be the most common, yes? Thanks for your help!
