Hey guys,

I'm applying this year, and I feel my app (specifically my GPA) might hinder my dreams of going to research-oriented MD school. Some feedback would be nice. (MDapps profile isn't completely filled out btw)

Engineering BS/MS
3.5 Undergrad, 3.6 Master's
13 Bio, 12 Phys, 09 Verbal, O Writing - 34O (91.2 - 93.7 percentile)
Averageish EC's, maybe some unique engineering experiences.
Published abstract/presentation at a conference (not a journal paper, gulp).
Hablo español, casi. Quiero ser fluido en el futuro.
Oregon (not Portland) rez.

I have some interviews, but I'm having a bit of an inferiority/neurotic complex here with low GPA, low verbal, and no journal paper (future paper though). I do have 2 years research though and several engineering projects. I'm also spending my gap year gaining clinical experience and learning how to surf.

Sounds like you'll be fine. Lots of med schools love the non-traditional, diverse candidate. I think you more than made up for your VR score with your high PS and BS scores.
