This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
how good are my chance for TX med schools?

Very good

I would just use OOS for some top 20 type reaches you would seriously consider turning down for those Texas schools juicy IS tuition. If you dont have research experience though that might handicap that plan though.

Hey SDN,

I am a electrical engineering major with an emphasis in software. I just recently got my MCAT score back and I got a 515 on it. My GPA science GPA is 3.93 and overall GPA is a 3.96. I am also a Texas resident. I am thinking of just applying to all of the TX MD schools and seeing where I get interviews at. Should I apply anywhere else and how good are my chance for TX med schools?

Some additional information:

200+ hours clinical volunteering
400+ hours non-clinical volunteering
200 hours of shadowing various doctors
Lots of leadership and founded two organizations on campus
Working this summer at a well-known aerospace defense contractor as an EE intern

Thank you for your time and hope to hear from some of you! 🙂
Any research experience?

If you apply to all of the Texas schools you should receive several interviews. Apply this month and submit all your secondaries by August.
