Hey!

What exactly is "English as a Second Langauge" as far as medical schools are concerned? Is there a place to note that you are ESL in the AMCAS application? Could this influence someone application? Thanks!!!

If I remember correctly, I think there is a section where you list your native language.

Or you can mention it in your personal statement.

yes there's a place to click on your AMCAS. I clicked ESL though coming to think of it, I think English might actually be my first language alongside the other one. Sort of 50/50 from the onset.

don't your transcripts say that???

My transcript says that my native language is indeed something else. Anybody else's says the same?
on another note, what is the difference in CONTENT between the unofficial transcript and official transcript?

There isn't a place for that on the AMCAS, but you could find a way to put that in there either thru your PS or Disadvantaged Status.

Official Transcript is inside a signed envelope from your school. The same transcript that you have access to is called unofficial.
