Hi guys,

quick question:

I know that some med schools require a yr of English (non AP-credit). I AP-ed out of the English requirement for my undergrad, but took one semester of English for funsies.

I had heard that some of these med schools would recognize other writing-intensive humanities classes as an "English class", but I'm not sure. If need be, I can always take another English class, but I wanted to check if the rumor I heard was true first.

Thanks! Good luck to all other current applicants!!! 😀

ps- Also, would a creative writing class count as "English", or does it need to be more of a lit class?

Contact (or check the websites of) the individual schools which you are interested in to determine their policy for pre-requisite completion (some accept AP creidts, some allow you to substitute writing intensive courses, etc...). As long as the creative writing course is housed by the english department, it's probably fine for completing the english requirement.

Just call the admissions office anonymously. It is easier that way.
