Most medical schools want 6 credits of undergrad english coursework. At my school, Rutgers, for my major, exercise physiology, i only need to complete a 3 credit expository writing course. My question is will any other english course suffice to fulfill that requirement? I really don't want to go through another writing course unless i absolutely have to do so.

NYU (I know for a fact) is very strict on this requirement. Most schools need two semesters of English -- I don't know how flexible some are. To be on the safe side, I would recommend taking an additional English class so you have the option of applying to all medical schools. You don't have to take an additional English class before you apply, just before you matriculate. Make sure, however, you note that you will be taking an additional English course in the future on your AMCAS primary application (so your application doesn't get the auto-reject just because they don't think you'll meet their prereqs.)

Im planning on taking 1 more english course before i graduate just for that reason. But does the material in the class matter (to count) or does it simply have to be any english course?
