Hello everyone! I am brand new to the forums and wanted to ask for some advice. I have just started the online Kaplan course 1 week ago and have already read through the first 7 biology chapters of the White Book. I took the online diagnostic and did lest that satisfactory. I got an AA average of 15, with 14 Bio, 19 RC, skipped QR, 18 Ochem, 21 PAT, and 13 GChem. I am still in my spring semester and as you can imagine it is tough to find time to start studying tremendously. Once the semester end's i will have exactly 2 months until my schedules test date of July 17. Will the 2 months i have be enough time to study up and raise my score to a AA somewhere in the vicinity of a 20? Please let me know your opinions i would love to hear them. Also here is my gameplan and let me know what you think:

I am going to read the KAPLAN white book GC, OChem, and Bio a couple times over. Just ordered Schaums Bio as a summplement to Kaplan. I have topscore. I am debating wheter i should buy DAT Achiever, Destroyer, and Crack DAT PAT/MATH. Let me know if you think they are bang for the buck. Thanks very much and hope to hear something back 😀

2 months is enough time to study depending on how good your background is in the sciences. As for the other options if you find Schaums too dense and dry to read through check out Cliffs AP Biology. I found it an easy read and helpful. I think Crack DAT PAT is an essential so definitely invest in that. If you have extra money then get Destroyer and lastly if you need more practice tests get Achiever (imo too hard compared to real DAT) or more math problems get Crack DAT Math. good luck!

I'm thinking to take the Kaplan online too. How long does Kaplan give you to finish the material?

Well, the kaplan course gives you 3 months and i find it to be absolutely essential just with the amount of practice materials they give you. Thanks man, the diagnostic FREAKED me out! But i started reading and im now getting like 70% on the biology sections. Only 6 out of the 16 ive read so far. It is really helpful i'd say. I will definitely invest in some more resources just because i dont want to retake the exam especially since i'm taking it in july. Thanks guys!

I sure hope 2 months is sufficient because that's all I've got! And I'm not even taking Kaplan...

It's kind of rough, wish i had started months ago but hey.. here we are! I'm sure we will be fine, just make sure no time is wasted! Stay away from distractions lol! I have to like board myself up in my room just to stay away... But let me know how your studying goes victoria i'd like to know.

im soo glad to see that at a few others are in the same situation as me(i was freaking out!!)...spring sem was/is insanely hard, was hardly finding enough time to study for the classes themselves, so def not enough time for the kaplan online(i think ive done a few PAT sections...need to start the rest ASAP!!)😱

i'll be done with school by may 5th, and hoping to just lock myself in my room till july when im planning on taking the dat. when is the latest i can register for it? and will i have enough time to retake it if needed?? :scared:
thnx

I think you have enough time considering that you are going to study hard (no life!) for 2 months.

Since you bought Kaplan online and have Kaplan white book, I think it's a good idea to read the white book couple times over (Is white book similar to the blue book?).

I read Kaplan Blue Book couple times to begin with, and it was really helpful. I thought it had most of the information you need to know for GC and OC. In terms of Bio, Kaplan BB did not go over some information such as structures of plants.

Anyway, I think you should buy Crack DAT PAT at this moment since I read a lot of bad things about Kaplan online pat and only good things about CDP. I recommend you buying 10 tests one.

and... I believe Destroyer is very useful, but I would work on it after I finish all the questions on Kaplan online. Destroyer has about 200-300 questions for all the science sections including about 150 questions for math. The questions in Destroyer are hard but has many informations for you to study from.

My plan is reading the kaplan bb + reading articles (i suck at rc section) -> destroyer + CDP + couple diagnostic tests + reviewing kaplan bb and cliffs ap bio -> Keep reviewing destroyer + kaplan bb + cliffs bio -> Maybe kaplan online questions + top score + top achiever (if I have time)

I am about 2/3 finished with destroyer by the way.....and have about 1 months and half till my test...thought it might be helpful

Good luck to you and myself!

Anyway, how many subject tests are there in Kaplan online? I am thinking about doing all the questions on there after I get done with destroyer and everything else.
