This may be a dumb question...but when entering the course name on AMCAS, do you have to enter it in exactly as it appears on your transcript? For example, can Fundamentals of Chem be entered in as "Fundamentals of Chemistry I" (to designate that its first semester). I'm just worried about how picky they are gonna be when they verify it.

Thanks in advance.

I personally would enter the class exactly as it appears on the transcript so ADCOM has an easier time viewing it. My premed office advises us to get an unofficial transcript and enter classes in the exact same order as the transcript and with the same course name.

I second that. Exactly as it appears. A bit of a hassle, but it'll probably save you some Verification time.

I called AMCAS about this... It MUST be EXACTLY the same! Regardsless if you can really explain what the class was about. I have two "Special Topics" class that are listed on the transcripts as that. One of the two was Immunology.... But cant add that. Go figure.

Good Luck!

I entered GENERAL CHEM as "General Chemistry I", and DIRECTED STUD as "Directed Study: Research Assistantship", etc... and I already submitted my application and got it back with everything verified and that was fine. No problems.

I am doing it the same way. As long as the course numbers match up to the right class, I think it should be fine. Also, I was looking at one of my friend's application who applied last year and he changed it also but it was still verified without any problems.
