I'm wondering how in detail epigenetics is covered on step 1. Is it important that we simply know what it is, or specific mechanisms as well like methylation, histone deacetylation etc... I ask because I can't find it in first aid anywhere
It's right at the beginning of biochem in FA. It's mainly knowing basics of heterochromatin, euchromatin, methylation, acteylation. A few sentences on each and being able to interpret them ten other ways...like all things USMLE.
