Just confused about whether eponyms for genetic diseases include all the different variations of a disease's name or just those which are related to the origin of the disease's name...

For instance, let's say Creutzfeld Jakob disease has a genetic cause, forget about prions for a sec, (caused by mutation in 19q11.6)... Let's also say CJD is also called a) transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, b) swiss-cheese syndrome and c) 19q11.6 deletion syndrome....

Would all of the above (a,b,c) be eponyms of CJD?

Thanks for clarifying...

I always thought eponyms were named after a person, so wouldn't CJD be the eponym?
