Equine Brachygnathism

Does anyone know if there is treatment that exists for brachygnathism (parrot mouth) in an adult horse? Everything I have found needs to be done under the age of one. The horse is approximately eight years old. THANK YOU!!!

Definitive treatment is best started by 3-5 months of age.

In an adult, the goal is to minimize the abnormal wear on the continuously errupting teeth. This may involve floating the cheek teeth and enamel points, reducing hooks on the upper PM2 and lower M3, and reducing incisor overbite. This may need to be done every 6-12 months.

An equine veterinarian with experience in dentistry or equine dentist is usually the best person to manage these.
