What equipment will a third year pod student need to purchase for clinicals? What do they utilize the most? I it is a strange question, I am just curious.

at the end of my second year I bought...

Stethescope
Tunning forks
Opthalmascope
Otoscope
Measuring tape
Suturing kit - including 1-2 pick-up, scissors, needle holder
hammer
and some pocket pod books

For some clerkships in the 4th year I will need my own nail nippers.

At DMU we have a Physical diagnosis class the first year. This means that you need a opthalmoscope, stethoscope, and a sphygmomanometer plus a myriad of other diagnositic equiment, but thoses are the main expense. The bookstore buys them in large quanties and has them at reasonable prices here at our school. Ask about the SPALs when you visit. Good Luck Phil. P.S. relax

The NYCPM book store will also make mass orders for everything that we need.

But some students go on Ebay or other sites to get used or different brand/quality/cheaper items.
