Hi all,

I can't seem to find any information on how to address posters accepted for conferences that were canceled due to COVID-19 in ERAS. Additionally, can we add accepted future poster presentations to our ERAS application? I have a case study that was accepted to a national conference as a poster presentation but, unfortunately, was never able to present it. I am going to re-submit it to this year's conference, but the conference will not be until May 2021.

My school stated that if a poster was accepted and the conference was cancelled, you should still put it on your CV since it has been vetted already.
Ah--good to hear. What about ERAS though? Seems it will be hard to put it in the 'poster presentation' section since the presentation never happened.

The above recommendations are correct. If you had an abstract, poster, talk, etc. accepted and the meeting was cancelled due to covid it’s fair and acceptable to add to your CV, etc. Our format is to list as usual and then add “(Cancelled- Covid)” at the end.
I was going to have a great year with a national meeting workshop, 2 international invited lectures, 3 hands on workshops, and a sim session at a major university, all derailed. 🙁 Fracking covid!
Most of that will be good next year though I think. Then promotion time? Hopefully.

Great--I'll definitely add that part about COVID for clarification. Yeah--it's quite amazing to think what the longterm implications of this year may have on so many people. Think of all the college freshman starting off online or people delaying starting school for at least a year. Then of course, the more obvious things like small businesses shutting down. Crazy implications. Good luck on that promotion!
