eras and test

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Maybe, maybe not. Since it's only a month difference and you'll still have it done before programs rank you, then it might not make any difference. But then if you have some interviews later in the season, they may ask you how Step II went and if you haven't taken it yet or whatever, you'd have to explain yourself. Honestly I think the best place to ask this is in the ERAS and NRMP Match forum.

Some programs want the scores before they rank (I hope this trend dies bc it is physically impossible for everyone to take cs before Nov 31 due to test dates and sites alone).

So you may want to check cut off dates for reporting windows. Last year's CS cut off for having a report back before ranking was Nov 31. After that, you would not have your score back before the programs ROL was due.

you can find this with a quick google search... I forget if its a CS specific, NMBE site, or USMLE site that lists the reporting cutt off dates.

CK I think a month diff should be a month diff

But your ERAS is final so you can't change that - and you were truthful in that you did PLAN to take it in Nov. If you want to be double sure, ask on (or before) the interview.

In any case, you can only do what is possible. Best of luck
