So life is a bit hectic right now, and without getting into details, I need some advice and some questions answered.

I am an D.O student interested in Emergency Medicine. I have not submitted my applications yet because I do not have any of my letters in. I just finished my first EM rotation last month and walked away with 2 attendings agreeing to write me letters, so thats exciting. As I am checking with my school, I realize that the attending who was supposed to write me one 3 months ago still has not. So as of right now, I have no letters in.

Question: Is it a problem if I submit my application without having any letters in? I am guessing that the 2 EM docs will probably be atleast 2-3 weeks if I pester them enough, and then hopefully I can get in touch with the IM doc and have that in within 2 weeks as well.

What is the protocol in terms of submission without letters?

I would go ahead and submit your app now. Not having LORs uploaded is not a problem, since programs will download those later as they become available.

There is nothing wrong with submitting ERAS in pieces - that is what most people end up doing.
