I'm a US 4th year student ...

I'm still working on my Personal Statement and wanted to get it read over and commented by a few more people before I put it on ERAS.

1.) How important is September 1 (for mid-level IM programs)?
-on September 1, when we apply, we apply with "incomplete" applications right? like LORs, and Dean's Letter's get added in as they are uploaded by our schools I believe...

2.) so is there much of a difference between September 1 and September 7th or 8th (should I type a pre-final draft personal statement in ERAS by September 1, or is there too much of a risk that a program might download my "incomplete" personal statement?)

3.) Does ERAS have a finalize button for the Personal Statement after which you can't edit it anymore??

4.) I guess what I'm also asking is when we apply on September 1st, does everything get sent to the school automatically, or do they just get a notification that you have applied, and then they can download? If so, when do they usually download (I heard October 1 usually, but I don't want to mess this up!)

5.) how do I send my Step 1 score, and Step 2 score (which is still pending)?

6.) what's the difference between September 1 and October 1?

I'm sorry for so many questions. The deans are on vacation at my school.
