My personal statement is 594 words on Word. Which is well less than 1 page.
I copy/paste this into textedit and then into ERAS and then when I click "Preview" the statement is 2 pages.
Anyone with a similar issue or any suggestions?

Having same issue. Preview is 2 pages, PS is 1. I’ve backspaced up until the last period to make sure there weren’t extra characters making it longer. Not sure why it’s happening.

Thank you! Yeah so what I figured out is that it just simply had to be shorter. That ERAS one page is really about 580 words max.

One thing I found is ERAS adds an extra space in between the paragraphs. I wrote my on Word and added a blank line between paragraphs, so it now has two paragraph breaks between paragraphs on ERAS. If you're doing this too, try taking out the paragraph breaks and see if it shortens to one page.

Paste it into Text edit or notepad, times new Roman 12, delete all extra spaces and paragraph breaks. If that doesn’t work then delete some extra fluff

This seems like a bug. It happened to me too.
I think it was fixed because I created a new file today with the same paragraphs that could not fit on a single page before and they can fit on a page today.

Yeah I put mine in last week and it was around 625 and fit on 1 page. Weird.

I’m at 750 words and have plenty of room to spare on the 1 page.
Pasting it into wordpad is the way to go.

For those who have already submitted, don't read what follows.

For those who have not, I recommend a concise statement that fits on one page.
Now that just about everyone is applying to way more programs than before, PD's will appreciate it.
