Hey all,

I applied to some programs and didn't upload my photo

1) Are photos required for the application to be complete?

2) Are photos uploaded before one is invited to an interview? I know in the past (6-7 years ago) photos were supposedly not uploaded until after the interview invite was sent?

3) If I want to change my photo or upload it to schools I didn't send it to, how do I do this on ERAS if I've already applied to programs (I don't see the photo check-box after I've submitted my application to a program)

Your feedback is appreciated.

If nothing else, photos help programs put faces with names on interview days (and helps the residents during the pre-interview dinner). In previous incarnations of ERAS, photos were hidden until a program marked the applicant's status as "invited to interview." Now it's all or nothing. My program chooses to hide all photos until interviews start, but I'm sure many programs view photos throughout the selection process. By the end of this month I'll remove the screen I've placed on our applicant photos and it's fairly rare for an applicant to NOT include their photo.

If you are an AMG, I believe your school still uploads the photo.
