I've presented at two conferences, one locally and one nationally, but I didn't do a poster for either of them and I didn't publish (yet, and might not get around to it).

One was a 20 minute ppt and the other was a longer "lecture" given along with my mentor.

there doesn't seem to be a space to categorize this appropriately...my choices on ERAS are either
1) peer reviewed journal/article published or non-published
2) poster presentation
3) other articles (published)

anyone have any advice or face a similar situation?

thanks

Oral presentations are still presentations. Put them under "presentation/posters". Likewise for video presentations in national conferences.

Yeah, I have a presentation I want to list, but no poster.
Still, on the CV/CAF forms, it says "Poster presented: [name of conference]".

So how are you guys indicating that it was a "non-poster" presentation?

Also what does "platform presentation" mean?

An oral abstract is basically equivalent to a poster presentation, many actually consider it "better" than a poster. They are both presentations of abstracts, one is just in poster format and the other in powerpoint. Sometimes (usually) it is referred to as a platform presentation.

I think it's silly that ERAS doesn't make this clear, since oral abstracts are exceedingly common at national meetings.

what about if you gave an oral presentation that you also gave as a poster presentation, but at different times to different groups? i presented the same presentation twice as oral presentations to different groups in my academic medical center, and once at a conference as a poster. should i just list the poster, or what? if i list the same thing 3 times, it seems redundant, but is it wrong to want to get credit for all 3?

I just listed the presentation like I would a poster...Eras has many system limitations like awards are listed under memberships...I can always clarify with the PD and I'm sure that wont count as falsification. The choices in eras (not the headings) really fo say presentation/posters....
