For a summer research project funded through NSF, I wrote that I received a $6000 grant. In actuality the grant from NSF is significantly larger, but my individual stipend was lower ($3600). I arrived at $6000 by including the cost of antibodies and other project specific items, however it was more of an estimate than anything. Is it worth including a note in my secondaries clarifying this issue or am I being paranoid about being seen as exaggerating?
