...someone mentioned secondary essays?
Can any one who has had a response from schools expand on this?

Some schools add extra steps to the admissions process. They're usually a series of questions about yourself, dentistry etc.. (Do a search on secondary apps) Out of the 7 schools I applied to last year, only 1 sent a secondary app. Some schools send them selectively and some make you fill one out when you're at the interview (NYU,Temple).
