Why are there some therapies that are unheard of the USA but, are efficacious and utilized in other countries? I have noticed this especially among Anxiolytics. Seems most choices come down harder drugs i.e possible side effects and addictions like Benzos and SSRI'S. In other countries the drug is for the most part used for Anxiety and not an off-label use.
Etifoxine: Similar anxiolytic effects as benzodiazepine drugs but does not produce the same levels of sedation and ataxia. Further, etifoxine does not affect memory and vigilance, and doe ot induce rebound anxiety, drug dependence, or withdrawal symptoms
Fabomotizole, Mebicar , among a few others.
