Ever get frustrated that you have so much to do and so much to study, you don't even know where to start? I'm at that point right now, and I notice that these states (paradoxically) lead to procrastination where you try to reason with yourself about importance/priority of stuff, what you should study next, etc.

No. But then again, I'm a winner.

Currently in same situation. I made a list of stuff I got to do. I'm sticking to it and not thinking about anything else.

Honestly you shouldn't reach that point. I don't know what year of med school you're in, but if you're in the first 2 years, I have a feeling you have too many resources that you are trying to juggle. Otherwise you'd know what you need to study and get on with it.

Working hard and seeing the fruits of your labor can be really rewarding. I love seeing how my knowledge continues to grow. I love it when I am the only one able to solve a PBL case after only the first part is presented. I love the feeling of being confident in GOSCEs and blowing away preceptors with my phenomenal (and honestly well practiced) bed side manner.

But yes... I do sometimes get frustrated. Then I realize that I should just work harder or not at all.

Perfection procrastination cycles are common among the intelligent types that make it into medical school. The bottom line is that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. So start somewhere and keep moving forward. You probably won't get through it all the same.

Good advice. I also suppose my erratic sleep schedule isnt helping.

No I've never been frustrated in medical school.
