But where would we all be without the insane perfectionist overachieving insecure socially-underdeveloped hypercompetitive gunners? Less annoyed, yes, but the world would also be a far less amusing place. Plus now we all get to feel superior that while we may not have been accepted early admission to Harvard Med straight out of middle school, at least we can get a date.
 
Maybe it's just me but why bother to burst their bubble? Let the high school junior dream of becoming a neurosurgeon. Let the pre-med college freshman act like he's all that during the plant biology lab. Let the competitive gunner spend 10+ hours a day in the library if he wants to. So what? How do these people, in any shape or form, hamper our own training? Only if we let them.
 
Absolutely, let the gunner in the plant biology lab who wants to show the world his connections to neurosurgery carry on. But don't complain when he gets made fun of. That's what he's really there for.
