Does anyone else loath organic chemistry as much as I do? I am retaking the 2nd semester for a better grade (trying to beef-up my GPA before I send off the transcript.) I had forgotten how much I hate it. It's the devil! LOL Anyone else have a class they hated?? Which one did you struggle with???

Just needed to blow off steam....thanks for listening.

Can't help you with hating organic chem....I had such a good teacher for it that I ended up LOVING it.

For me it was the second half of physics. Mechanical physics made sense but electrical....not so much. It handed my butt to me on a circuit so complex I couldn't find it again.

Hang in there, as long as it's a passing grade it's all water under the bridge.

i can't sympathize either. i took the same professor for all 4 semesters of chemistry (including both semesters of organic) and she was fantastic. i loved organic. the mechanisms can be a pain, but stick with it, hopefully it will click for you this time. good luck!

I still get anxious thinking about O. Chem. I didn't hate it, I just didn't really get it. It was the first class I ever took that baffled me.

I'm totally with you!!! I have never hated a subject so much as organic chemistry...It was the worst mark I have ever received, and I am SO happy it's over...My prof was from Scotland, and it was his first year teaching in Canada, and maybe they learn chem since they're born over there, but the stuff he expected us to know before he even started teaching was ridiculous! Plus, organic chemistry for me was already difficult so needless to say, it was the most painful class I have ever taken...Just stick to it, review after every lecture, do problems, and I'm sure you'll do fine...And if you don't understand something, google it. Google got me through that course...😛 Good luck!

Ugh. I'm in my second semester of organic chemistry right now (test in a weekAHHHH) and this has been the most frustrating, irritating class I've ever taken. My professor is wonderful, but a pretty harsh grader, and half the things in this class just don't quite click with me. It's really frustrating because I've always been the type of person who learns things in a snap, so grinding to a halt in a class where every bit of information is like stabbing nails into my brain is horrible.

We had 40% of my class fail or get a D last semester, and almost a third in the C range. 😱
