On a lighter note, anyone getting that new Evo 4g with sprint? I don't particularly like that I have to join sprint for 2 years, but that phone is sick!
I have been looking for a sweet phone for a tech junkie like me and it wins. Pre-ordered at Radio Shack!

So anyone with android phone recommend any applications?

Now all we need is country-wide 4G access...

I'm interested in checking it out, although I do love my iPhone. 😎

I've read many reviews on it and it seems like a winner. My current phone is 3 years old so it's time for an upgrade. Can't beat 8 mpx camera, HD video (although compressed) and 4.3 inch display. Also, looks like Sprint will add 4G to Pittsburgh by the end of the year. Also, Google will add Android 2.2 to the phone this year as well which has a tethering option on it that can hopefully let us bypass the 30 dollar extra fee that will be charged by Sprint.

RT2MD, your last comment after that code today just clicked in my mind. Yes you can play with the new phone when i get it. im on call june 4th, the NIGHT i get it!!!

and yes, it looks like a winner.

if you are considering fellowships, just rememeber - i posted this same post in the pain forum and here. the pain forum now has a full blown discussion about phones/ipads/iphones with many senior attendings and academic attendings.. no responses here.. different culture/attitude in pain. a bit more relaxed 👍

The Evo 4g is better than the the iPhone WILL be (the leaked one). Bigger, better screen, faster connection, faster processor, replaceable battery. This phone is the winner.

Hopefully you live in a city with 4g access. You can still use 3g if not.

Just remember in addition to the mandatory $30 data fee (all included in their $70 min voice/data/text) Sprint is forcing users regardless of whether they are in 4G or not an additional $10 a month for for access.

Sprint is playing a very dangerous game. They can barely keep their customers and adding these manadatory charges means peole won't see any value with sprint and people will be inclined to go with Verizon or Att.

HAHAHA! Yeah, that was a bit of a cluster - no wonder you looked confused in the elevator! That sucks that you are on call the night you get it... gonna be praying for a slow night, aren't ya? I'll be around, although I'm leaving the first part of July (PRN).

Yeah, that phone looks awesome, and Android 2.2 is looking like it's going to make Apple play catch-up. Some items:

- Add a small app to your desktop and stream music to your phone over the Internet. Works with most music players, including iTunes.
- Wireless tethering, so you've basically got a Wifi hotspot wherever you go.
- Full, wireless syncing of apps, music, etc.

I will be getting a new phone soon. Right now seems the Sprint Evo, Verizon Incredible, and AT&T iPhone are the best ones out. Not sure if anything will change by August but we'll see.

On a similar note, I am debating on whether to purchase the iPAD. I feel this may help with studying since I can put my study materials into pdf format and transfer those to an ebook. Not sure $500 for the cheapest one is worth it, but definitely thinking about it.
