Hey Guys! I am a rising junior looking into purchasing study materials for the MCAT. I will take my test either March or April 2016. Choosing materials is so hard and complicated!!
Im not sure what to get. For those of you that have taken the new MCAT and received your scores; what materials was most beneficial. Please rank all the materials you used to study the test in order of most helpful and close to the actual test.
Also, should i be purchasing the 2015 materials even though my test isn't till next year? Will they have new materials if i was to wait till say October to buy the books?
I managed to get mostly As and Bs in my science classes. However i am not sure i learned the material indepth to brush over when study for the test. I probably need to review most of the major concepts again. Also a lot of people have been posting "FLs" what does that mean? Which of these provide the most practice problems?
Thanks a lot for your input!
Kaplan
TPR
TBR
NS
EK
AAMC study materials
Khan Academy

FL means "full length" - these are the practice tests that you will want to take in the weeks before your test day to help simulate what the actual test will be like. I'm personally using TPR, however, if you're totally lost and have the time/money for it, I would recommend going through a course with any one of the companies you've listed.

Time to start doing some research vs. relying on others to do the work for you.

The FAQ and commentary on the new exam links in my signature will be helpful to you. 🙂

How is TPR in terms of content review and practice questions?

I have done my own research and narrowed my option down to Kaplan and EK. However it would be nice to get first hand advice from actual test takers don't ya think?

I'm doing Kaplan, haven't taken the test yet. What I've heard is Kaplan's stuff is often harder than what the real MCAT ends up being, especially on the PS section. Anyone else doing Kaplan that can share their experience?

My link has pages of firsthand advice from 2015 test takers and their opinion on the various review materials.
