Proteins do no usually pass into the nephron across the glomerular network.

True or False?



I have it in my physio notes (from general and human) that small proteins such as albumins are small enough to pass through, and are removed from the filtrate via exocytosis. I remember having this on an exam and getting it wrong b.c. I forgot how they were removed.

Anyone know differently?

agreed! only a.a can diffuse through glomerous which are eventually pumped out from proximal tubule into peritubular capillaries and back into the blood.

It is true most of the proteins are not small enough to pass glomerular network of capillaries. However, if sometimes albumins do pass, they are reabsorbed into the blood. Normally there are no albumins in the urine.
