over the past week or so, i've had about 2 or 3 people tell me that the reason many Path. programs aren't responding to applications much right now is because of the publications deadline which is this coming Monday. Supposedly after this deadline, alot of PDs will start looking at the apps....

i hope so!

let the madness begin monday (well, most likely, tuesday)!

cheers and i hope everyone is doing well

I haven't heard much either - two interviews, one by email, one by US mail, one email acknowledging receipt. No rejections. I didn't apply to most of the other places people are saying they got interviews from - I have heard from BIDMC and U Vermont. As I am from New England and have cynicism instilled in me from birth, I wonder about places I applied to outside the region. Specifically, why hasn't the midwest called? Didn't you see I went to college there? I will be waiting for a program to sweep me off my feet, no matter where in the country it should take me.

Of course, my transcript and at least one of my LOR is not in yet. I honestly didn't expect much until my application was finished. Will just content myself with anticipation of the next Red Sox disasterous season-ending moment.

Good luck to all

Yaah,

are you an AMG or an IMG?

cheers!

rirriri: What does "the publications deadline" refer to?

The publication deadline is for the USCAP meeting that is in Vancouver Canada this March. Many of us residents and the facuilty are scrambling to get our abstracts and papers submitted by today.

I get to go to Vancouver!!!!

If you are wondering what is USCAP.

www.uscap.org

It is still very early in the game don't get down.

I know what you mean😱 I hope to see you guys there!!!

Maybe we should retitle this expect more contact the week after next week, i think all the departments will need a week to recover from the abstract rush.
