Hello to fellow pre-veterinary students and veterinary students!

I`m a new kid in pre-veterinary and I have some questions about experiences that I need in order to get into Veterinary School.

I am not sure what kind of experiences do Veterinary Schools count?
-animal shelter?
-horseback riding?
-owning a pet?
-working at vet clinics?

I need your help !!😍
Thank you,
Jay

Yes to all those. There's two types of experience, animal (which your first three count as) and veterinary (which the last one counts as). Animal experience is basically anything with animals that's not under the supervision of a vet, and vet is anything under the supervision of a vet (including research) or, in the case of research, under a PhD or a DVM working on an animal related subject.

Hopeful is right. I'll just add that veterinary experience is more important for you to get, especially if you alrady have a fair amount of animal experience.

You'll want a variety of vet experience as well - large animal, small animal, research, wildlife/zoo, etc.

Thank you guys!
It was really helpful!
