Hi All,
Each of the following appears in the glomerular filtrate in concentrations approximately equal to those in plasma EXCEPT one. Which one is this EXCEPTION?

Urea
Glucose
Amino acids
Steroid hormones (ANS)
Plasma electrolytes

Explanation pls.

Hi,
Glomerular filtrate has everything same as plasma except proteins.
Steroid hormones , Thyroid hormones, Vitamins A, D, E, K all need protein as transporter to circulate in the blood.As there is no protein filtering into Glomerular filtrate, those Steroid hormones can not be filtered.

Here is another one that I don't know how to calculate. Thanks in advance.
Assuming that P50 = 26 torrs, under conditions where pO2 = 30 torrs, the average number of O2 molecules bound per hemoglobin molecule is closest to

0.5.
less than 1.
almost 2.
greater than 2. (ANS)
greater than 3.

P 50 means the partial pressure of oxygen required to saturate 50% of Hemoglobin.
50% means 2 O2 molecules in Hb ( as Hb can bind 4 O2)are bounded by oxygen.
P50=26, then 2 O2 molec.s are bounded.So just greater than 26torrs so greater than 2.
