Ok so please no judgement - I took ochem and got a D and then took it again...and got a D+. I know this looks terrible but in my defense I did get a 340 in ochem on the OAT. I am wondering how, if I should at all, explain the two D's in the section on many supplementaries asking to explain any poor academic performance. I am (obviously) taking it again at a different university as i have since graduated from the uni i originally took ochem at. I don't have an extremely legitimate excuse aside from working and having a heavy course load. HELP!

I have the same issue. Any answers 🙁

My friend who got a 2.53 GPA at 300 OAT and got accepted to IAUPR said IAUPR is very forgiving on a couple of bad grades. I guess this could be your safety school.

Then just say that. Say there's no excuse except you probably worked at your job more than in retrospect you should have. That's all you can say really.

Okay - so you suggest that i DO say something?

I suggest that you do explain how you worked X number of hours while taking heavy load of classes. This way they know the reason behind your bad grade.

Maybe also be honest if the material was tough for you? Lets face it....organic is arguably the hardest pre-req and with a large course load it can make it more difficult. Also, the material its self can be difficult, especially if your professor is moving too fast or just not explaining things properly that you are being tested on. Whatever you say will be some type of excuse, so if the course really was difficult (this could mean either the content or the way your school has the course set up), I would be honest about it, since on the OAT you displayed decent knowledge of the subject by getting a 340.
