Explanation of a particular median gpa

My room mate recently purchased the premium pass to US News's website that contains the rankings for medical schools, median MCAT scores of matriculants and median GPA of matriculants. According to the website, Creighton University's medical school's median GPA of matriculants is 4.00. Can someone give me an explanation for this? I doubt that every person that received an acceptance from them has a perfect GPA.

That doesn't mean every person that received an acceptance from them has a perfect GPA. It simply means ≥50% had a 4.0.

Creighton's web site gives a class profile and shows an average without stating if it is mean or median.

It is 3.75 If half plus one of all its matriculants had a 4.0 then the rest would have an average of GPA of 3.4 Still, I find it odd that so many 4.0s would be attracted to Creighton. On the other hand, I find it interesting that 1 in 5 students there are from California.

It's a typo. There is one school, I forget which, that "gave more acceptances than interviews" based on the US News Data.

We are the nation's largest exporter of pre-meds (1,480 last year). For comparison, NY exported 496.
