Extension on Deposit

Have any of you asked for an extension on the deposit deadline? If yes, then how did you contact the school, what reason did you give, and how long was the extension? My deposit is due on the 15th and I would like a two week extension. Thanks for any help you may provide 🙂

How much is the NYU deposit?
Do they have an installment plan?

You can ask, and they may "give" it to you. However, such extensions are not legally recognized. Beware that if they "give" you an extension and something happens, you have no legal recourse.

You may, however, purchase such an extension. This is legally recognized.

the answer will most likely be a NO...Columbia had 2000 dollars due on Jan 15th and 1000 dollars due on May 1st...I ask Dr. M very nicely if I can paid 1000 dollars on Jan 15th and 2000 dollars on May 1st and he said NO, he must treat everyone equally....🙁

I know it sucks...I just paid 2000 dollars and now I am broke...

holy -- i think dr. mcmanus REALLY hates it when students switch schools on him later in the year...asking predoctoral students 2 g's for the initial deposit!!

would you still even go interview at harvard if they invited you now??

So did you end up paying the deposit then?

And you are right Navy DDS, I am going to go ahead and pay the 1500 right now and wait for my state school. Wasting 1500 is not a big deal if I can save 100000 over the long run. I've never wished more to lose 1500 😱

YES! I would go to the interview at Harvard if they invite me! I just hope they are still interviewing! 🙂

I would suggest making an effort to live within your means, but dammit, this is America!
