During the summer I'm planning on shadowing an optometrist a couple times a week. I've been doing this during the school year for the past two years as well (but with a different doctor).

Are there any other things that would look good on an application that I can do during the summer other than shadowing?

Volunteer somewhere, even if its only one day or a couple of hours a week. Best if it's something in the medical field such as at a hospital or even retirement home... but volunteering anywhere else would also look great (food bank, children's center, etc)
