My God, do I feel the need to vent.... At the institution where I am an attending, we have podiatry "residents". I don't know what the hell their problem is (aside from extreme laziness I guess), but they continuously bitch and moan about every little thing. This usually entails them doing a little bit of work, etc. What the hell! I did 4 years of a residency where I worked my ass off; let these dorks try that. Today, one of these buttnuts tried to get me to fill out an H&P for him. Whatever..........that clown was IMMEDIATELY schooled as I told him I wasn't his slave. I told him, "No, buddy......YOU fill out the H & P then I'LL countersign it!" That's how it works in the real world, kids. The REAL doctor will countersign the "scutwork" done by the PSEUDO-DOCTOR to ensure its accuracy. Jeez! 😡

Interesting. My wife recently went into a hospital outpatient surgery center to have her hammer toe repaired by a podiatrist. All of the MD's reporting for duty that morning looked downright grumpy just like blue collars facing another day in a sweat shop. The lone DPM showed up in a happy perky mood and just light up the entire floor with her positive attitude.

So you want to tell me that there are no lazy MDs or DOs. I mean ignorant people will also group people racially based on their experience with ONE person. "This black guy at my job is lazy so all blacks must be." Dude, act like you have some education.

Dude, I have infinitely more education than you will ever have.😴

I guess I should have clarified my initial post by stating that this is but one example of a plethora I have to choose from. It is simply my personal opinion and prejudice that the majority of podiatry residents I have encountered are, by my standards, lazy-cry-baby-whiners.

Sorry if the reality hurts, toenail-trimmer🙄

so for all of the knowledge and enlightnment that you have received in attaining your md...
your still prejudiced and equate all of podiatry to toenail trimming and laziness
sounds like you just blew alot of money...b/c your education was wasted

im sorry that there are lazy pod residents out there, but i am certain that you cant use them as a benchmark for judging the entire profession
it would be like me equating all md's to you....and calling them all arrogant and boarish

dude go troll somewhere else

I guess you would like to hear "I know you are but what am I?" Get a life!

ProdPod

Already got one, chief..........Tell you what though......next time some diabetic gomer rolls through the doors, I'll consult you boys for some "foot care".

Ciao

"next time some diabetic gomer rolls through the doors, I'll consult you boys for some "foot care"."
-brachial plexus

is that supposed to be an insult???...cause believe me you missed your mark

if anything you probably just pissed off and insulted every diabetic...
dude...you are not a doctor.....your a ****head

i dont think any doctor would refer to patients like that.....and if they do..they are @ssholes too

honestly i could care less about what you say about podiatry, i certainly dont care about what you think of me or my profession(and nobody else does either for that matter)...but you really should be ashamed of yourself for referring to people like that...
people that are supposed to be coming to us for medical treatment should be treated with respect and compassion, not mocked

brachial you make me sick

Hey jconway,
Great to hear from you! I guess the *****s still meander around these parts to get some attention! It's awesome with podiatry, people are happy and just don't care to talk horse-**** like our soooo busy visitors. LOL. Besides, if I were unable to get it up like Brachial Plexus, I'd probably vent on the internet also like a byotch!

I rock!:horns:

Is this you Brachial?

Its so sad to see some of the attitudes towards to fellow health professionals. Am a Podiatrist with surgical training, now at Medical school to become a 'Doctor.' Im based in the Uk and I agree its patient care that ultimately suffers when interdisciplinary communication breaksdown.

I have a great deal of respect for Podiatry but the limited scope of surgical practice led me to Medical school. Unfortunately we have the same problems this side of the pond with collaberation between the two professions being rare in the Surgical capcity.

If the focus was on patient care rather than who is the most qualified perhaps some of these issues would seem trivial.

Hey guy, sorry if I unmasked some of your insecurities. It's not my fault you weren't smart enough to get into medical school and have to settle for foot care for the rest of your life. Seriously though, dude........did you honestly strive to become a podiatrist or was it just a back up for medical school? Given the nature of your vehement replies, I feel it is the latter. Good luck in life, pal!

Guess what, j-boy........I'll give you just a little bit of insight as you are not really involved with the real world of medicine.........

Here it is..........based on your quote, there are a lot of @ssholes in medicine.

Peace out,

Your boss

Dude, I have infinitely more education than you will ever have.

BrachialPlexus,

I want to play, I'm an oral and maxillofacial surgery resident with a dds and an md. Sorry, I know that stings a bit. Just lighten up. Laziness depends on your point of view. I have seen lots of mds around the hospital that act lazy. Remeber, you can always be one up'd by somebody.

But...but...your MD isn't REAL, or else you'd be a REAL doctor like BP!

By which, of course, I mean malignant and riddled with insecurity. And, just to pre-empt the inevitable no-brained response, until you can present some sort of credentials, BP, you've got less legitimacy to stand on than ANYONE on SDN, regardless of how inherently superior your your probation officer says you are. 🙄

Well, Bill.........since you have a tendency to repeat yourself, MY MY probation officer does not need to tell me how inherently superior I am 🙄

This is already known.

Remember the equation of life MD >> dds

By the way, remove that ridiculous avatar if you have any compassion whatsoever!

😍

for once i am in complete agreement with my colleagues in dentistry
somebody mark the calender(LOL)

incidentaly does anyone actually believe BP is "an attending" at an "instituition"?

hey brachial..its time for you to move on...your not getting anywhere here...

It's true, MDs do work more hours than DMDs. MDs do pay more malpractice insurance. MDs do have to take more call.

Thanks for the reminder, I'd almost forgotten!

No problem..........here's one you forgot though, drill-jockey:

MDs do have more respect than DMDs.

'nuff said

When I go see the "drill jockey," I actually leave must of the time without any further pain. Some, not all, of the MDs are actually just an extention of the pharmacies that I will get my meds from later for experimentation, not a solution. Bottom line, don't write that MDs get the most respect. Fast and efficient healers get a patient's respect!

Umm, yeah, I'd be interested in seeing your sources on this.

For starters, why don't you ask those people who have been sitting in the ER waiting room for 6 hours and STILL haven't been seen by a physician. Ask them how they like the docs.

You'll soon learn that your high hours and reduced pay don't demand the same respect from the public anymore. That occured when co-payment fees went down to $3. That's right, it costs more for an extra value meal than it does to see a doctor. But you only spend 4 minutes with the patient before hitting the script pad, so what part of that should they respect?

Just ask any physician, allied health professional or, most importantly, any patient.

Okay.......or I'll ask the patient whose cardiothoracic surgeon prolonged their life by 20 years or ANY patient who has had their pain eliminated and has been able to tolerate surgery thanks to an anesthesiologist.

And now addressing the most ludicrous issue of this "post":

Since I am an anesthesiologist, believe me, the "high hours and reduced pay" to which you refer do not apply. My income level after JUST COMPLETING RESIDENCY is higher than you will ever see in your "career".

Do me a favor, boy........think about some stronger, more cogent arguements then please reply to this post.

bp..im sorry to tell you this..but
your pay fresh out of residency may be high...
but believe me dentists do better financially

-they work about half the hours you do

-their residencies are shorter(generally), so they get a paycheck sooner

-they are paid cash for alot of their work

-and their overall earning potential dwarfs yours because you receive a paycheck(albeit a healthy one) from a hosptial who can determine whether or not you get a raise and how much you are worth, and the hours you work are more or less dictated to you....

-while they are governed only by how many people they get in the door and how long they want to stay in the office

of course all of this is pointless because you are not an anesthiologist or an attending, nor are you fresh out of residency

your a kid at home on his computer
who really needs to get la!d

Looks like The_Gas_Man has been reincarnated. Or maybe it's just birds-of-a-feather syndrome. Either way, keep trolling. If you don't mind hastening the inevitable, you could start swearing or libeling.

Priceless. I concur, Doctor. 😉

So Brachial is a gas man. Just great. With his anger management problems, I sure hope he's not the one who gets to pour the whoopie vapors to me if I have to go under the knife. Suppose I forget to tell him that I had a meal just 2 hours before he puts me under and I end up barfing while I'm out and create a real mess on the table . Oh jeez, that could sure take Bracial out of his comfort zone and just ruin his whole morning. Since I was the one who screwed up his day, maybe he would go into a tizzy fit, take away my life support, and just let me expire. Oh yeah, Brachial seems to be a real professional.

I will do neither. I am definitely going to have to remind myself to stop looking at your avatar as the subsequent nausea is becoming unbearable. 😛

Whatever.......I'm not even going to argue with you since you are so misinformed

-they work about half the hours you do

That may be true, but I didn't become a doctor to work as few hours as possible. Believe it or not, I wanted what I did on a daily basis to make a difference in peoples' lives; something you dentists have a hard time reconciling.

-their residencies are shorter(generally), so they get a paycheck sooner

-they are paid cash for alot of their work

Ho hum.........

-and their overall earning potential dwarfs yours because you receive a paycheck(albeit a healthy one) from a hosptial who can determine whether or not you get a raise and how much you are worth, and the hours you work are more or less dictated to you....

WRONG. I determine my own worth by providing quality anesthesia care on a daily basis. The hospital never dictates the hours I work, the OR shedule does. I'll tell you what, though......I never work more than 50 hours a week and 40 is the norm.

of course all of this is pointless because you are not an anesthiologist or an attending, nor are you fresh out of residency

Think whatever you want. I am secure in the knowledge that I pursued my dreams, worked hard in achieving them, and am now reaping the benefits and ultimate satisfaction of a career that only a chosen few dedicated individuals are able to attain. I don't have to spend the rest of my life justifying my failure by discussing the "glorious world of dentistry". Boy, that must really suck......

🙁

Brachial,
I have never seen anybody expose their own insecurities on the web more than yourself. You have one of the easiest and non-challenging residencies alive. Are you just angry that the nurses do the same work your doing now or what?

Some folks like Brachial seem to get off on the self made "I'm all that and you are not" attitude. Well even Brachial, like the rest of us on SDN, was the benefactor of just plain good luck by not having been born as a street orphan in the slums of Rio.

You know the type of person that I admire? It would be a Nobel Prize winner in medicine who appreciates and takes the time to acknowledge the effort and contribution of some guy working over a grill to put out a good quality hamburger.

Boring.......YOU as a podiatry "resident" have the EASIEST "residency" ever. Your ignorance is apparent by the above quote. I am not angry at all that nurses do the same work as I do as you allege...............

However, my day consists of supervising these nurses do all of my work while I get PAID! Life is good; Darwin was right........survival of the fittest!!!  😍  😍  😍

BP (gas_man), seriously, f_ck off.

You think podiatric surgery is easier than giving gas and standing in the background while we actually do the work. That's like the waterboy telling the quaterback that his job is harder.

Why am I even replying to someone too stupid to even spell "quarterback"? Oh well..........here goes......I'll make it easy for your simple mind:

YES!!

i am trying to figure out of brachial=gasman...or if brachial=profunda...

brachial since you are so concerned with grammar...
you used the wrong "you're" in your last post

We shouldn't even respond to someone so stupid that they can't even spell "your."

You guys are ALL stupid as hell. Misspellings or not. For being physicians, "real or not" one would think you should have better things to do with your time than talk **** to others on a damn SDN post.

To the MDs, DOs, DDSs, DPMs:

YOU'RE ALL VERY IMPORTANT TO THIS SOCIETY AND TO THE MEDICAL FIELD, NO MATTER WHAT SOMEBODY SAYS ABOUT YOU OR YOUR PROFESSION.

Salary shouldn't dictate how important somebody is in the professional world. Sure, the salary of an anesthesiologist may be higher, so what. You're all just going to waste your money and time talking **** on the computer anyway.

Focus on what is really important in your lives... your career! Not on what some random preprofessional or professional is saying about your job.

You're ALL stupid as hell!

Oh yeah, BP, hope to see you in the OR someday as I to am going toward my anesthesiology certification. You seem like a good guy.

PEACE
