Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and I have a few questions. First of all, I'm terrified to even apply to any pharmacy schools. I'm convinced that I'll be tossed in the O file. 😕 So here' my situation, I'm currently a student at a CCC, I've gotten 3 D's in general classes, 1 D in Accounting (I took this class while I was in High School and now I regret it!!), a handful of C's, and A's and B's in the rest (I've already retaken the classes I've gotten D's in). My pharmcas gpa will be around 2.7-2.8 when I finish my pre-reqs at my current college, however, I plan on going on to UCD to get my B.S. in Clinical Nutrition. So I have about 3 years until I graduate. Is this enough time to bring up my gpa or are they only looking at general and core classes? I've been trying to add on to my app by volunteering at a hospital pharmacy and I took the PTCE and passed but with no tech work under my belt yet. (It's so hard to find a job!) Also, what is a grade audit according to pharmcas? Should I just give up on pharmacy? 🙁

Look into PCAT. Retake pharm prereqs bc they matter a lot if you need to.

don't give up. finish ur degree in nutrition, it will provide you with a job.

i think i'm stuck with what i've done in prereqs because we're not allowed to replace C's. will finishing up undergrad strong balance everything out?

First things first =) I would suggest focusing on one step at a time. With your current GPA, you will find it harder than the average applicant to complete the application process. However, if you go to UCD to finish up that B.S., you may be able to raise that GPA to a 3.4 if you work really hard and get A's from here on out. It's very important to look at the road before you, not just the goal. If you don't get those A's, then it won't matter. As long as you have retaken those classes you got D's in, then you should be ok. I would also consider going to a different community college and retaking those classes you got C's in. You definitely shouldn't give up on pharmacy. You stand a good chance if you take everything one step at a time.
